Meet Jessi Cowart
I’m Jessi Cowart, a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and candidate for Texas House District 15.
As Vice Chair of the Libertarian Party of Texas, I’ve spent years standing up for Texans who feel unheard by the two-party system.
My roots here run deep — three generations of my family have called this community home since my grandfather built his first house here in 1970. My husband, Bobby, and I are both graduates of Oak Ridge High School, where we met, and our children are second-generation War Eagles.
I’m also an IT Project Manager, which means I understand what it takes to cut costs, balance budgets, and manage priorities efficiently — skills Texas desperately needs in government.
I’m not running to add to the noise — I’m running to bring balance back to Austin with a voice of reason, respect, and liberty.

On the Issues That Matter to Texans
I’m running to defend your freedom, your property, and your right to live free from unnecessary government interference. Every policy I support begins with one idea — Texans know best how to run their own lives.
Eliminate Property Taxes
Texans deserve to own their homes — not rent from the government. I’ll use our surplus to reduce school taxes and move Texas toward true ownership.
Rein in Government Spending
Texas has lost its grip on fiscal restraint. I’ll fight to reduce the size of government, stop overspending, and return Texas to financial responsibility.
End Civil Asset Forfeiture
No Texan should lose property without being convicted of a crime. I’ll fight to abolish this unconstitutional practice and restore property rights for every citizen.
Defend the Guard
Our National Guard belongs to Texas — not D.C. I’ll support Defend the Guard legislation to keep our troops under state authority unless Congress declares war.
Stop Overcriminalization
We need to stop filling jails with non-violent offenders and focus law enforcement on real threats. I’ll push for smarter, fairer justice policies that protect liberty and safety.
