Issues

Freedom. Responsibility. Lone Star Liberty.

As Texans, we know that government should serve the people — not control them. I’m running to restore fiscal sense and individual freedom to the Texas House. Each of these issues reflects my commitment to protecting liberty, limiting government overreach, and ensuring every Texan has the right to live, work, and thrive without unnecessary interference.

Eliminate Property Taxes

True Ownership Means Freedom

Texans deserve to own their property — not rent it from the government year after year. I support the eventual elimination of property taxes because home and business owners should not be forced to pay for the privilege of keeping what’s already theirs.

I will champion legislation to leverage our state budget surplus to buy down school district M&O tax rates and set Texas on a path toward true property ownership.
Additionally, I support ending taxpayer-funded lobbying, where local governments use public money to pay lobbyists who often advocate for laws that raise taxes or limit our freedoms. Our tax dollars should defend our rights — not undermine them.

Rein in Government Spending

Fiscal Sense Over Political Excess

Texas government spending is out of control. The 89th Texas Legislature began with a $24 billion surplus — money that should have gone back to taxpayers. Instead, the legislature passed a $338 billion budget for 2026–2027, expanding government faster than both population and inflation.

I will vote to reduce the size of government, limit unnecessary spending, and return Texas to fiscal responsibility. I’ll also support local-level legislation that ensures counties and cities stay accountable to the taxpayers who fund them.

Texas should set the example for financial discipline — not government waste.

Improve Disaster Recovery

Prepared, Resilient, and Community-Driven

Montgomery County can and should lead in effective, efficient disaster recovery — without growing government bureaucracy. I will advocate for strengthening our local volunteer base, improving coordination with partner organizations, and enhancing clear communication of available resources for residents and businesses after disasters.

By empowering community networks and focusing on smart resource management, we can improve response and recovery without expensive government expansion or new taxes.

Protect Property. Protect Due Process.

End Civil Asset Forfeiture

No Texan should lose their property without being convicted of a crime. Yet under current law, law enforcement can seize assets based merely on suspicion — a direct violation of individual rights and due process.

Civil asset forfeiture is nothing short of legalized theft, and I will fight to abolish this unconstitutional practice. Property seized should only ever be used for victim restitution — never to fund agencies or fill government coffers.

This is a nonpartisan issue — and it’s time Texas stood up for justice, fairness, and the rule of law.

Defend the Guard

Prepared, Resilient, and Community-Driven

Modern military deployments have drifted far from the Constitution’s intent. Too often, the Texas National Guard is sent into combat zones without a formal declaration of war from Congress.

I support Defend the Guard legislation to ensure that no Texas National Guard unit can be deployed to active combat unless Congress lawfully declares war — as required by the U.S. Constitution.

Our Guard members serve Texas — not political agendas. It’s time to bring them home and keep them under state authority, where they belong.

Stop Overcriminalization

Focus on Justice, Not Jail Numbers

Montgomery County’s jail is overcrowded and overburdened. Instead of spending $400 million on a new facility, we should address the problem at its root — by ending the criminalization of victimless “crimes.”

I propose decriminalizing non-violent, victimless offenses so law enforcement can focus on protecting citizens from true threats: violent crime, theft, and harm. This not only saves taxpayer dollars but also restores fairness to our justice system.

We must shift from punishment for its own sake to policies that respect individual freedom and prioritize public safety.

A Vision for a Freer Texas

Every policy I support comes down to one simple truth: government should be limited, accountable, and protective of liberty — never intrusive or self-serving.

Texans don’t need more control from Austin. We need leaders who trust people to make their own decisions and communities strong enough to thrive without constant interference.

Freedom works — and it’s time to prove it again.
